Written on Overbey wins with strong showing in Sevier; Finney asking for recount:

I fully support Senator Finney's requesting a recount. You see, I sat outside a Sevier County polling location today and asked folks to vote for Senator Finney. Fully 65-70% of the people I talked to told me they did so. Now it may be that most of these fine people lied to me but to what gain? Could the numbers be so different in other districts?(Mine is one of the larger ones.)Definitely "things that make you go hmmmmmmmm."

Written on Sen. Raymond Finney endorsed by National Rifle Association:

As a NRA Life Member, I believe the NRA endorsed Senator Finney because of his REAL support of Second Amendment issues and his introduction of pro carry legislation in the Senate. I believe Doug Overbey did not receive that endorsement because of his support of and vote for Democratic Speaker of the House Jimmy Naifeh, who made a personal appearance in committees to squash any pro carry or pro Second legislation. Finney not only says he is pro carry and Second Amendment, his voting record backs it up.
