  • Connor Wood, a kindergartner at John Sevier Elementary, enjoys his first Maryville-Alcoa football game. Fortunately, he wore the “right” shirt! Connor is the son of Luke and Sara Wood and brother of Briana, all of Maryville.

  • A group of friends gathered at Foothills Milling Company on August 14 to celebrate Dick Ray’s 80th birthday. In attendance were Dick and Ann Ray, Joe and Ardy Adams, Bob Kidd, Jim and Kathy Huffstetler and Tom and Nancy Baugh.
  • The 2010-11 Maryville High School dance team are all smiles. The team captain is Mekenzie Russell and co-captain is Brittany Rohrer. They are coached by Megan Blevins.
  • Summer Stark, 10, of Friendsville was a state finalist in the National American Miss pageant.
