  • Sam and Brody Pankratz caught their first shark off the pier at Daytona Beach Shores while on vacation with their grandparents, Jack and Judy Humphreys. They are the sons of Jason and Beth Pankratz.

  • Members of the Mary Blount DAR and Elizabeth Paxton Houston Society C.A.R. participated in the July 4th Celebration at James White Fort in Knoxville. The event, sponsored by the Sons of the American Revolution, is held each year on the site of the founding of what is now Knoxville.   • The ladies group Prisilla Cirlce at First Christian Church celebrated Christmas with the annual party and secret sister gift exchange. Those attending were Diane Robinson, Eldonna Ray, Doris Crowder, Janis Ramos, Joy Waters, Lydia Pttner, Gina McGee, Becca Ramos, Sheri Erwin, Renea Kennedy, Mary Moore and Polly Garland.

  • Royal Oaks Community’s 15th annual Fourth of July Parade was bigger and better than before. This year’s event was very patriotic and festive. The parade was led by Grand Marshall Chip Wood, the only student in Tennessee selected by the Governor to have a seat on the 2010-11 state boards of education.

  • Tom and Alice Pearce recently moved to Maryville. After only a few haircuts and shaves at Twin Blades Barber Shop, the staff went out their way to help Tom celebrate his 83rd birthday with a surprise celebration. Pictured with Tom are Jerry Farner, Mike Moore and Charlene Slaughter.
