  • The 11-year-old Maryville All-Stars recently won the District 6 Championship and finished third in the Tennessee State Tournament held in Columbia. Members of the team include Nathan Brestle, Jack Bristol, Zack Brown, Jake Chambers, Michael Davis, Taiga Ikeguchi, Brody Leonard, Thomas Lovin, Luke McLemore, Brock Sloan, Zach Tate and Garrett Wilson. Jason Chambers was the team manager along with coaches Rodney Lovin, Randall McLemore and Justin Davis.
  • These Maryville Cubs hit five homeruns in one game including one grand slam. Brody Leonard and David Smith hit one homer each. Tyler Zwolinski hit two homeruns and Caden McLaughlin hit a grand slam.
  • The 70 and over Smoky Mountain Mamas won the senior Olympic state championship in Franklin in July. They received gold medals and will compete in the national tournament in Houston next June. Pictured are coach Glenn Ballard, Peggy Ballard, Marie Ledgerwood, Katherine Mahon and Jo Cooper. Peggy Ballard also won the silver medal in the hot shot shooting contest.
  • Shannon Martindale was united with family and friends at a get together at Patrick Sullivans. Seated with Shannon are Mr. and Mrs. Hoya and Joy DuVoisin of Knoxville and other family and friends.
  • The Maryville High School dance team attended and competed at the University of Tennessee’s UDA camp in July. Kathlyn Collins and Brittaney Rohrer achieved UDA all-star status.
