  • On Oct. 12, to commemorate the anniversary date of the death of Gen. Robert E. Lee, members of the Capt. W. Y. C. Hannum Chapter 1881 United Daughters of the Confederacy donated a book to the Blount County Library entitled “Pride of the South: Confederate Leaders of The Civil War.” Present for the presentation were, from left, Florence Byrd, Elaine Russell, Kathryn Pagles, Betty Best, Cathy Jenkins and Debra Wilson.
  • The Central Baptist Church Royal Ambassadors of Alcoa handed out bottles of water in an outreach project. The boys gave away 450 bottles of water with the Bible verse John 4:13-14 attached.
