  • Bret Lindsey caught this large mouth bass on Tellico lake recently. The fish weighed in at 10.2 pounds.

  • Several members of the Tuckaleechee Garden Club of Townsend participated in the Blount County Garden Club Annual Plant Sale at Midland Shopping Center on April 23.  Members sold plants and garden accessories such as handcrafted hypertufa bird baths.  Funds from the sale will benefit additions to the Townsend Riverwalk in the process of being certified as a Trail Arboretum.   • Home Federal Bank employee Jason August prepares the ribs for a barbecue fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) at the bank’s downtown Knoxville headquarters. Funds raised supported the bank’s team in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes.
  • Jaxon Longhurst and his father, Glen, enjoy a beautiful, sunny day with some baseball. Jaxon plays for the Braves in the Maryville Minor League, and dad, Glen, is one of the team coaches.

  • The Tennessee Shooting Stars won the Nothing But Net invitational tournament in Hot Springs, Ark., in March. They beat teams from Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Pictured are coach Pat Murphy, Mary Kelly, Madge Susong and Peggy Ballard.
