  • As part of the Commemoration of Confederate History Month, the General James Longstreet 954 Children of the Confederacy (CofC), sponsored by the Captain W.Y.C. Hannum 1881 UDC, place a Second National Flag and flowers at the grave of Private Grigsby Rush Willocks located in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. He served, along with his twin brother Robert, in Thomas' Legion, Company H, CSA in North Carolina. The military marker was originally installed and dedicated by the CofC in 2007. Pictured are John Testerman III, Madison Gallostra, Tyler Byrd-Gallostra, Katherine Horn, Evelyn Kelley, Christina Peters, Hannah Peters, Clara Peters, Caleb Peters, Dylan Moya, Miranda Herring and Cheyenne Miller.
  • Trista Holder of Heritage Middle School Golf Team was named to the All-State girls team finishing 6th place of 17 girls at the East Tennessee Middle School Golf Association state tournament.
  • Cameron Jameson, Kaleb Suttera, Jordan Mitchell and Austin Cooper enjoying some Buffalo Wild Wings.
  • The Tuckalechee Garden Club of Townsend presented the April Yard of the Month to Paul and Norma Reynolds. Garden club members Mo and Dick Pearson were responsible for the selection. The yard features a variety of spring blooming flowers in beautifully landscaped beds. Pictured, from left, are Norma and Paul Reynolds with Mo Pearson.
