At the Feb. 7 services at the Baker’s Creek Presbyterian Church in Blount County, the Elizabeth Paxton Houston Society Children of the American Revolution presented a certificate from the National Society C.A.R. designating the church as a Historic American Church. The church, founded in 1786, is the site of the grave of Elizabeth Paxton Houston, mother of Sam Houston. Pictured are, front, Tyler Byrd-Gallostra, Madison Gallostra and Amber Hall. In back are Dylan Moya, Cheyenne Miller, Rev. Ron Sabo and Austin Hall. Amber and Austin Hall’s families have attended this church for many generations.
