Maryville Middle School Soccer Team A won the Division B Middle School Tournament held in May.   • Members of the Tuckaleechee Garden Club of Townsend celebrated National Garden Week (June 5-11) with a work day at the Townsend River Walk, a collaboration of the Club and the City of Townsend.   • The Mary Blount Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, placed a DAR Historical Marker on the grave of Mary Grainger Blount, on May 22, 2011. Mary Grainger Blount is buried in the First Presbyterian Church Graveyard in Knoxville next to her husband.
