  • Logan Miles won first place in the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scout Pack #285. Logan is the son of Chris and Theresa Miles.

  • Heritage players Cody Wagner and Corey Stroud participated in the USA Junior Nationals All State Competition held at MTSU in March.
  • Enjoying a day at the aquarium and the Imax Theater in Chattanooga with the Middlesettlements UMC Senior Saints are Cortney Paige Dyer, Carolyn Trentham and Edie Jones.
  • Heritage High School baseball team celebrates their win over Maryville High School.
  • Pictured here is Jessie Burchfield James standing in front of the Becky Cable House in Cades Cove. She was born in Cades Cove on Sept. 8, 1919. She was a charter member of Cades Cove Missionary Baptist Church. Jessie moved out of the cove at age 16 when the National Park Service took over. She enjoyed her many trips back to Cades Cove. Jessie, 90, passed away March 30 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center.
  • At the March meeting of the Mary Blount DAR, Ila Mae Morton presented a program on quilts and demonstrated the techniques involved in several of the quilts that she has created. In addition, slides from the DAR Museum in Washington were shown that featured heirloom quilts in the DAR collection. Pictured is one of Ila Mae Morton’s quilts as well as a doll coverlet and pillow that she also fashioned. Pictured are, from left, Charlotte Miller, Ila Mae Morton and Lynda Williams.
