  • Jackson Lotter and Audrey Easterday celebrate Oktoberfest in Louisville. The event was, “all about the kids,” according to Donielle Stone, event organizer and chair of the town’s parks & rec committee.
  • David Dwyer and Phil Campbell gather at Louisville Point Park, a peninsula on Fort Loudon Lake. The event included a bass fishing tournament, a cyclist rally, music and family activities.
  • Nine-year-old Neo Kirkland catches a fish during the festival. Children not only learned how to fish at the event but also took their fishing rods and reels home at no cost for future adventures on the lake.
  • Betsy and Norah Felty fish along the banks of Fort Loudon Lake at Louisville Point Park during the town’s twentieth anniversary celebration. Stone said not only did kids learn how to fish, but so did many parents.
  • Brandon Palmer tries to reel one in with his new fishing rod. Stone said the equipment was provided by donations from area businesses and individuals. Mike Vineyard of C&C Outdoors spent many hours located deep discounts so the town could afford to provide the free fishing rods and reels to children.
  • Landen and Lymiah Rich participate in the children’s fishing tournament. Kids also enjoyed pumpkin decorating, games and a bounce house at the Oct. 16 event.
  • Cody McMillan and Wade Hurst hitch a ride with Evan Crockett at Louisville Point Park during Louisville’s Oktoberfest. The event celebrated the twentieth anniversary of Louisville, which is an ideal spot for water sports.
  • Brian White represents the local Boy Scouts at the event. Several civic groups, churches, businesses contributed to the event’s success.
  • The Christian band “Seven Day Believer” prepares to perform for the crowd abuzz with family activities and outdoor sports.
  • Clay Felty and his daughter Freya join the family event at Louisville Point Park. Stone said the now 20-year-old community has always been about families.
  • Blake Shumate displays his winning catch. The 9.15 pound catfish took the grand prize at the Children’s Fishing Tournament at Louisville Point Park.
  • Louisville Parks & Rec committee chair Donielle Stone joins Blount County Mayor Ed Mitchell at Oktoberfest. Stone said her committee “went above and beyond” in organizing the event for 2,000 people; which celebrated the town of Louisville’s twenty-year anniversary.
  • Blount County Officers Elizabeth Courtney with Sunshine and Brad Garner with Jo make an appearance for children at Louisville’s Oktoberfest. The Sheriff’s Department also brought their K-9 unit for children to see.
