  • Carl and Gail VanHoozier lead the Hope Gala as the chairs of the event. The dinner and auction raised approximately $115,000 that will help provide free services to cancer patients and their families.
  • Vince and Carol Fusso check out the silent auction at the Hope Gala on Aug. 7 at Blackberry Farms. One of the most popular auction items was a trip to Napa for wine tasting.

  • David and Jeanie Alley were one of many couples who combined date night with charity work at Blackberry Farms on Aug. 7 benefiting the American Cancer Society.
  • Dena Pinsker, Carol Fusco and Carlton Long help raise funds for ACS at the Hope Gala. The event was not only a fundraiser but also a celebration for the 15 percent drop in the cancer death rate over the last 15 years.

  • “The Decade of Excellence” documentary plays at the Clayton Arts Center on August 14 to a crowd of 600 supporters of the Maryville High School football team. The DVD is $25 and can be ordered by emailing Joey Winders at windersj@bellsouth.net. All proceeds benefit the Maryville High School Athletic Department.
