Essays written by five Heritage Middle School students were selected by Congressman John Duncan, Jr., for printing in the Congressional Record. The students (Lindsey Basham, Garrett Headrick, Michaela Hearon, Mackenzie Kindig, Kayla Kirkland) were part of a group of 98 eighth graders and 10 teachers who were given a personal tour of the United States Capitol Building by Congressman Duncan and aide Rebecca Forster on May 5. Congressman Duncan also discussed the legislative process with the students, who later watched the voting process in the House of Representatives visitors’ gallery.
