Members of the Maryville-Alcoa Civitan Club helped to serve over 600 guests at the annual Special Olympics Hamburger Lunch Fundraiser on July 15 at First Baptist Church in Maryville. Civitan Club members are loyal supporters and volunteers at all Special Olympics activities in our community and even at the State level for skiing and ice skating at Ober Gatlinburg. Helping at the hamburger lunch are, in front from left, Suzanne Rhoden, Tammy Ferguson, Bridget Jenkins, Genny Kidd, Lynda Thurston and Anna Kay Morgan. In the back, from left, are Bob Ellsasser, Tom Begley, Deborah Quillen, Christy Walsh, Dennis Ryniec. Civitan is a worldwide, all-volunteer community service organization with a focus on serving people with developmental disabilities. The club meets at noon on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at Green Meadow Country Club. New members are always welcome.
