Pictured here is Jessie Burchfield James standing in front of the Becky Cable House in Cades Cove. She was born in Cades Cove on Sept. 8, 1919. She was a charter member of Cades Cove Missionary Baptist Church. Jessie moved out of the cove at age 16 when the National Park Service took over. She enjoyed her many trips back to Cades Cove. Jessie, 90, passed away March 30 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center.
