Morgan McCord, now a Maryville High freshman, concluded her Maryville Middle School track and field career by being named most valuable player at the 2009 TSSAA Area 4 Championships, the highest level of competition for middle school athletes. Along with being selected MVP at the sectional meet as well, McCord won the Open 200m, Open 400m, Shot Put and 100m Hurdles at the Area 4 meet, setting Maryville Middle records for shot put, 400 and 100 hurdles in the process.
