The Blount County Copperheads 14U baseball team captured the State AA Title in the June 28 State Tournament in Knoxville to qualify for the USSSA 14UAA World Series in Kissimmee, Florida. At the World Series, the team was within inches of claiming the World Series title, losing in extra innings to the Arsenal, a New Jersey-based team, 7-6. In both the State and World Series tournaments the Copperheads entered elimination play as the bottom seeded team. Team members include Freddy Garcia, Hunter Saunders, Peyton Sliger, Blake Elliott, Michael Neubert, Justin Davies, Josh Barnes, Kalley Young, Taylor Wallace, Alex Wilson, Teague Wallace and Aaron Griffin.
