Maryville High School senior Brad Coulter readies himself in the starting blocks prior to the 4x400-meter relay, the final event in the Class AAA state meet. Coulter missed the entire football season when doctors advised the Rebel offensive lineman another hit on his injured spine could prove catastrophic. In a sweet reprieve, Coulter helped the Maryville relay, not even expected to qualify for the finals, to a seventh-place, medal finish.
