Don Sentell has been at the helm of the Maryville Rebs youth football team for almost half a century, during which time he has teamed with assistant coach and defensive coordinator Lewis “Junior” Masingo to compile an astonishing record. The Rebs won their fifth consecutive Parks and Recreation Super Bowl last weekend, capping a fifth consecutive unbeaten season in the process. Sentell and Masingo have become legend through the years, producing more high school and college stars than either can remember. One former player attended a recent Rebs practice, providing the two icon coaches a vivid reminder of just why they do what they do.
