Richard Norman Mack, Sr.

Richard (Dick) Norman Mack, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Wellington Place in Maryville after an extended illness. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Morton and Mardel (Nye) Mack and his grandson, Austin Gore. He is survived by his wife, Joan (L’Heureux) Mack; daughter, Debra Gore and husband Billy of Knoxville; granddaughter, Sarah Gore of New York, NY; son, Richard (Rick) Mack, Jr. and wife Cindy of Nashville; grandson Richard (Trey) Mack, III; great-grand children, Karissa and Dalton of Hendersonville, TN; his sister Sonja (Mack) Beland and husband Richard of Poquoson, VA; sister-in-law Linda (L'Heureux) McKay and husband Paul; brother-in-laws Gary L'Heureux and wife Beverly, David L'Heureux and wife Ruth, and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Barre, Vermont and spent most of his life in Claremont, New Hampshire. He was a graduate of Stevens High School and Tilton Prep School. He attended both the University of New Hampshire and the University of Vermont. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 9. He spent many happy days watching the Tennessee Vols and playing tennis.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Wellington Place in Maryville for their loving care and the Palliative Care and Hospice for their incredible care and support during this time.
