James Allen Baker

James Allen “Buck” Baker, age 63, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 from a massive heart attack. He was retired from TENCO Feed Mill, Rockford, TN after 30 years of service. He went to be with his dear Lord and Savior. Member of Carson Island Baptist Church. He was a member of Mt. View Masonic Lodge # 519 F & AM and Eastern Star Lodge numbers 358 and Greenback Order of the Eastern Star #401. He was an avid fisherman, farmer, gardener, and volunteer for many needs; friend to all, caregiver. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by parents, Alvin Don and Mildred June Long Baker; infant brother, father in law and mother in law, Otto and Arzadia Bass. Survivors by his best friend and wife of 42 years, Linda Bernice Bass Baker; daughter and son in law, Stephanie and Kevin Gumm of Maryville; grandson, Dylan; granddaughter, Megan; brother, Albert (Janice) Baker of Knoxville; sisters, Carol (Walter “Bud”) Rudd of Maryville and Virginia (Charlie) Walker of Toney Alabama,; brother in law, Jerry (Reba) Bass; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice. Special thanks to Rural Metro Service, Blount Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, Dr. Diana Cobb, and Greenback Fire Dept. for all your help and support. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday July 26, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. The funeral service and Masonic service will be held at 8:00 PM Tuesday July 26, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Charlie Ensor, and Rev., Clifton Hearon officiating.
