Juanita “Nita” Sims, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Maryville Healthcare Center. Nita was born in Union Springs, AL on September 8, 1921. Preceded in death by: Loving Husband, Harold R. Sims; Son, William Hugh Pope; Grandsons, Mike Calhoun and Patrick Newsome; Siblings, Durwood McCall, James “Lubber” McCall, Julia McCall Orr, and MaryElla McCall Green. Survivors include: Children, James “Bubba” (Louise) Pope of Greenback and Anita “Sis” (Wayne) Newsome of Panama City, FL; Grandchildren, Mike (Ginger) Pope, Karen (Jim) Stiles, and Amy (Ralph) Goodson, all of Maryville, and Mickey Calhoun of Panama City, FL; Great-Grandchildren, Lindsey Brown, Will Pope, Hogan, Nena, and Blair Goodson, and Maggie Stiles; Siblings, Virginia McCall Smith, Flora (Hal) McCall Sterling, Cecil (Betty) McCall, Charles (Beth) McCall; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 16, 2011 with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm at Mt. Hilliard Methodist Church in Alabama with Dr. Robins Sims officiating.
