Hazel Dean Chapman

Hazel Dean Chapman, born March 30, 1926, in Maryville passed away peacefully on April 4, 2011. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved the Lord, her family, gardening, cooking and dancing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Glen Miller Roulette and step-father, Edward Dewey Roulette.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Emmet P. "Buck" Vaughn, Jr. of Knoxville; son, Clayton David Chapman of Friendsville; grandson and wife, Lee and Courtney Gardner of Baltimore; step-granddaughters, Suzanne Vaughn Laine of Knoxville and Melissa Vaughn of Louisville, CO. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Will and Charlie Gardner, Chase and Preston Laine and Lillia Vaughn. Hazel is survived by her only sister, Susie Frow of Maryville and nieces and nephew, Toni Miles, Vicki Kelley and Charlie Frow.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Littlecreek for their excellent care and many kindnesses.

Family and friends will meet at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, for a graveside service with Rev. Mike Sluder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to: The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley, InterFaith Health Clinic, Helen Ross McNabb Foundation or to the Parkinsons or Alzheimers Research Foundations.
