James Henry Cochran

James Henry "Jimmy" Cochran, age 90 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Park West Medical Center. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church, was a member of the Mitchell Sunday School Class, and former Sunday School Teacher of the Teenager Class. He retired from Proffitt’s Department Store and the Blount County Tax Assessor Office. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in World War II, former member of the Maryville Lion’s Club and former Boy Scout Leader of Den 1.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, June Cagle Cochran; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Corkey Cochran of Oneida, Larry and Diane Cochran of Maryville; grandson, Josh Cochran of Murfreesboro; granddaughter and husband Sherri and John Kroening of Melbourne, FL; grandson and wife, Jack and Angie Yox of Mooresville, NC; grandson, Jeffrey Yox of Palm Bay, FL; granddaughter, Danika Lindsey Spivey of Knoxville; granddaughter, Cissy Garner and husband Mark of Rockford; great grandchildren, Addy Cochran; Brandon and Blake Kroening of Melbourne, FL, Amanda and Justin Yox of Mooresville, NC; Maddie and Liam Spivey, Josh, Adam and D. J. Garner; sister-in-law, Ivalene DeLozier; brother-in-law, Rev. Dwight Cagle; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Maryville First United Methodist Church with Pastors Brenda and Larry Carroll officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Church.

Active Pall Bearers will be Steve West, Brian Cook, Clyde Peery, Jr., Tom Slawson, Steven Greene, Jr., David McKinney. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Clint Martin and Steve Greene.
