Brent Burnette passed for 222 yards and touchdowns, with running back Thomas Shuler recording his third consecutive 100-yard game, and Maryville High School’s football team claimed its fourth straight Class 4A championship with a 28-13 win over Maplewood Saturday night at Middle Tennessee State University. The Alcoa High School senior rushed 18 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns, adding a third score on a 14-yard toss to tight end Tyler Robinson, and the top-ranked Tornadoes routed Goodpasture Christian School, 35-3, in the Class 2A state championship game last Friday night at Middle Tennessee State University.
