Veterans in need of assistance invited to benefits event

Veterans confused about benefits and services they’ve earned will have an additional avenue for help later this month at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson.

Many benefit changes occur from one year to the next. That’s why the nonprofit Disabled American Veterans organization and the Harley-Davidson Foundation have teamed up to offer help.

The DAV Mobile Service Office will be at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 27, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, to provide the best counseling and claim filing assistance available. This event is part of the nationwide Harley’s Heroes tour and is free to all veterans and members of their families.

For further information regarding these events, contact Shane L. Liermann at 615- 695-6384. Veterans can also contact the Blount County Veterans Service Officer Nathan B. Weinbaum at 865-273-5760.
