Three days of rabies clinics planned

The Blount County Health Department has scheduled its annual rabies-vaccination community clinics. Vaccinations are $10 per animal (no checks, please).

Tennessee state law requires that all dogs and cats over 3 months old be vaccinated for rabies. All pets brought to a clinic should be on a leash or in a carrier.

The clinics will be held 4-6 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Lanier, John Sevier, Friendsville and Montvale elementary schools, Springbrook Gym (Alcoa) and Old Hubbard School.

A clinic will be held 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Rockford Elementary School.

The remaining clinics will be held 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Porter and Townsend elementary schools, Maryville Middle School and William Blount High School.

The clinics are being held in cooperation with the Rabies Control Division of the Tennessee Department of Health and local veterinary clinics, and in conjunction with the City of Maryville and the City of Alcoa. For more info, contact the Blount County Health Department, 865-983-4582.
