Selena Reed
Blount Memorial Hospital registered dietitian Selena Reed now is certified as a diabetes educator (CDE) by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.
To achieve the status of a certified diabetes educator, Reed had to successfully complete the certification examination for diabetes educators, along with other professional practice experience requirements. To maintain certification, Reed must complete 75 hours of continued education every five years. The CDE credential demonstrates that the certified health care professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality care for persons with diabetes.
Reed is a registered dietitian and licensed dietitian/nutritionist for the food and nutrition department at Blount Memorial Hospital.
