Blount Memorial oncology nurses certified by Oncology Nursing Society

All Blount Memorial oncology nurses now are certified in oncology care and chemotherapy administration through standards of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). The 18 registered nurses working on the hospital’s 5-east floor all are certified by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC), which is affiliated with ONS and provides oncology nursing credentials.

The registered nurses work in inpatient cancer care and outpatient infusion services and include: Kathleen Arendt, Robyn Bouch, Tonya Bowles, Rachel Cloud, Ashley Fleeger, Amy Fugate, Matthew Glaspie, Janice Lamontagne, DJ Marsh, Kate McGarry, Carolyn Monn, Jenna Murphy, Jennifer Null, Kim Reid, Jennifer Schelling, Jessica Skipper, Regina Vandiver and Jennifer Venuk.

Oncology certification provides tangible evidence that health professionals have the knowledge required to effectively provide care to patients experiencing the complex problems associated with a diagnosis of cancer throughout the disease continuum. Oncology nursing certification validates that nurses have met stringent requirements for knowledge and experience and are qualified to provide competent oncology care.
