Inaugural golf tournament for Kingdom Design Ministries sees success

On Saturday, May 14, Kingdom Design Ministries took to the links to raise needed funds to help make some children’s dreams come true.

Kingdom Design Ministries is a non-profit Christian organization that creates dream-room makeovers for children who have experienced serious illnesses, disabilities, abuse or life-altering accidents.

The golf tournament was a first for the organization but will not, says Missy Johnson, KDM director, be the last. Johnson said they anticipated raising around $4,400 when all the donations were counted. Area businesses and citizens made contributions to be sponsors and donated prizes.

There were a few raindrops in the forecast, but only a brief five-minute shower arrived, which did not dampen the spirits of the golfers. Breakfast and lunch was served, along with donated desserts by the men and women from Central Point Baptist Church.

Johnson offered thanks to all who worked the tournament and to all the businesses who donated money and/or prizes.
