Before Relay: Scrappin' in the Foothills helps cancer fundraiser

As the grand finale of Relay for Life kicks off this weekend with a community-wide event at Maryville College, participants will see some teams with fundraising totals in the thousands and ten-thousands. Many groups work for months before the June 3-4 Relay for Life, raising money through everything from bake sales to bike rides.

Relay events can also match participants hobbies, making fundraising fun. The Scrappin’ in the Foothills event for Relay for Life was held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 23 at the Foothills scrapbook store at 515 N. Foothills Plaza Drive.

Participants saw demonstrations, got to use specific tools for creating better scrapbooks and had the opportunity to purchase new materials and win prizes.

One hundred percent of the proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society.
