Heath Shuler, former UT quarterback and current North Carolina Congressman, is the special guest host for the Hearing and Speech Foundation’s 5th Annual Away Game Tailgate Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 17.
The event takes place in the luxury of Neyland Stadium’s East Club Skybox while Coach Derek Dooley and the UT Vols tackle the Florida Gators in The Swamp. Doors will open one hour before kickoff.
Kickoff has been announced for 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 each and go on sale Monday, Aug. 1.
Tickets include a lavish buffet of tailgate food and two complimentary beverages. At half-time, Shuler takes the stage to talk about the Hearing and Speech Foundation’s work in East Tennessee to provide the gift of sound.
Ticket sales are tax deductible. Proceeds benefit The Hearing and Speech Foundation. To purchase tickets, call 865-977.0981 or email Amanda@handsf.org.
“Now in its fifth year, the fundraiser is an excellent chance to experience a Neyland Stadium skybox at a great price while also assisting those in need,” said John Berry, HSF CEO and co-founder. “The skybox has a large wall of TVs, which translates into a huge viewing screen for the game.”
Since 1981, the Hearing and Speech Foundation has provided the gift of sound for thousands of economically-disadvantaged children and adults through their hearing aid assistance program. Now it its 30th year, the organization is expanding services to include auditory training and therapy. There is also an international outreach program in Jamaica and a research and development program.
