Blount County was well represented in the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s annual list of “40 Under 40,” with six who either live, work or do both in Blount County. The group were joined by “40 Under 40” alumni, business leaders, friends and the community at a gala reception at the Knoxville Convention Center on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Sponsored by the University of Tennessee Professional MBA Program, the reception combined a meet-and-greet with a time for the honorees to receive their awards.
The “40 Under 40” program honors individuals under the age of 40 who are leaving their mark on East Tennessee through their professional achievements and philanthropic efforts.
Honored from Blount County were Eric Barton, chairman of Relyant; Eric Clemons, manager of the U.S. Cellular retail stores in Alcoa and Sevierville; Bryan Daniels, president and CEO of the Blount Partnership; Tom Gallaher, president and CEO of Gallaher and Associates; David Schwall, vice president of marketing, Clayton Homes; and Mary Beth West, principal of Mary Beth West Consulting.
