Dr. DeBauche Joins MPLN as Cytogenetics Director

David M. DeBauche, PhD, FFACMG, was named the new cytogenetics laboratory manager at Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network, Inc. (MPLN).

Dr. DeBauche joins the technical and scientific staff at MPLN with more than 20 years experience in cytogenetics and medical genetics.

Board certified in clinical cytogenetics, Dr. DeBauche earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, where he graduated cum laude.

He also earned his PhD in biochemistry from Marquette University in Milwaukee and completed a fellowship in clinical cytogeneitcs in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as well as a fellowship in medical genetics in the Department of Pediatrics in MUSC.

Prior to joining MPLN, Dr. DeBauche held the positions of director and technical director at Genzyme Genetics for more than 11 years in Santa Fe, NM and Tampa, Fl. He also served as the department head of cytogenetics at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. Dr. DeBauche was also a clinical cytogeneticist and a PhD Medical Geneticist at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Dr. DeBauche is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and an inspector with the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program. He is also a member of the American Society of Human Genetics, the Southeast Regional Genetics Group and the Pediatric Oncology Group.
