The Helen Ross McNabb Center will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its newest facility located at 1704 E. Broadway Ave. in Maryville, on Friday, Feb. 11 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The Center has provided quality mental health care and addiction services in Blount County for more than 19 years and is currently leasing space in the New Midland Plaza. The expansion will provide space for psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, master level clinicians and bachelor trained therapists to provide mental health care in an onsite setting. It will also provide a home base for therapist and case managers who work in the community’s schools, homes and juvenile court to further meet demonstrated needs.
The facility was designed by Johnson Architecture and Creative Structures will complete construction this summer. The project is funded through private donations and grants. Each facility currently owned and operated by the Helen Ross McNabb Center is debt free. The newest facility in Blount County will also be debt free due to the fundraising efforts of the Center’s leadership and the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation. This will allow the Center to continue its tradition of directing its resources to serving the community and improving the lives of people served.
The Helen Ross McNabb Center desires to be a fixture in the community and valued as a partner in Blount County’s health care continuum. The McNabb Center currently employees more than 40 professionals through its services provided in Blount County. The new facility will allow the Center to employ 10-20% more jobs with the expansion of services.
