Singles and the fun of dating had nothing on a large group of couples gathered on Friday, Jan. 28, at the Clayton Center for the Arts. The “Ultimate Date Night” packed in at least 256 people for an evening of enjoying being a couple and the married life.
Sponsored as an outreach of Maryville First United Methodist Church, “Ultimate Date Night” was so popular that overflow seats had to be brought in. The evening featured 90 minutes of music, comedy and sharing, with Jay and Laura Laffoon leading the hilarity. The Laffoons offer a program that teaches valuable marriage tools through humor. Topics gently and humorously explored during Ultimate Date Night included the importance of laughter in a marriage, discovering your dreams for your marriage and ways to communicate with your spouse.
All ages were welcomed and all ages responded, with some couples being newly-married 20-year-olds all the way to elderly couples in their golden years of marriage.
Date Nights are part of the outreach program of First United Methodist Church.
