Robinella set out to captivate the audience at the Capitol Theatre Friday night, and, by all accounts, the local songbird hit her mark.
Every chair was filled, and there were plenty of people standing along the walls at the Capitol for Robinella’s July 29 show. The event capped the July Last Friday Art Walk and drew fans to the theater to the 8 p.m. concert.
Capitol Theatre owner Heath Claiborne said Robinella put on a great show. “With Robin’s voice and stage presence, she had the crowd in the palm of her hand. Maryville is blessed to get to experience locally such a high quality vocal performance,” he said. “From a personal stand point, it was an honor and pleasure to get to have her and the band at the Capitol for the first time.”
Claiborne was happy with the turn-out. “It was pretty packed in there. She has a really strong local following,” he said.
Robinella (Robin Contreras Bailey) mixed her show with a few cover songs, her own songs from past albums and some of her new work that is out on her current CD “Fly Away Bird.”
