Fundraiser in Townsend was success for Children’s Home

The Springtime in the Smokies 24th Annual British Car Gathering, held in Townsend, was a successful fundraiser for the Blount County Children’s Home, say organizers.

Jim Watson co-chairperson for the event and also a Children’s Home board member, said about $1,500 was raised.

The 3-day event was an opportunity for individuals who are committed to the enjoyment and preservation of British cars and bikes to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. The event also provided out-of-town visitors and local guests with information about the Blount County Children’s Home. A jewelry sale to benefit the Children’s Home was also held a few days later at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
