Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
Records: Heritage (3-3, 0-3 District 4AAA), Farragut (2-3, 1-1)
Previous meeting: The Admirals didn’t waste any time in this one last year, rolling to a 27-0 lead after a quarter en route to a 50-7 blowout at Farragut. The Admirals had nearly 200 yards of offense in the opening half.
Last week: The Mountaineers forced the game’s first turnover last week then proceeded to yield four of their own in the form of four Tyler Hartley interceptions, two of them returned for touchdowns. William Blount put up a modest 137 yards rushing, 94 through the air, but the picks were killer. Je’Rell Bledsoe had the lone Heritage score on a 25-yard toss from Hartley. The Admirals came up short in an absolute barnburner with Riverdale, falling 39-34 to the Warriors. Riverdale torched the Farragut defense for 525 yards rushing. Cody Rule (66 yards), and Mondre Hudson had running scores for Farragut.
Keep an eye on: Chase Cline helped power Heritage to a 3-1 start, and this could be game the junior running back heats up again. When Cline enjoys a big night, the Mountaineers become a team with a lot of quick-strike capability. Receivers Dylan Burchfield, Chase Everett and Bledsoe have to help Hartley recover his early-season groove as fast as possible. As of last Friday, Heritage held the 25th slot among 32 teams statewide vying for places in the Class 6A playoffs at season’s end. The Admirals hold the No. 32 spot. They may not enter ranked teams, but both schools know this is big.
