Blount Memorial radiation oncology technical coordinator Randy Carr has received the credential of Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) through the Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC). Carr will be one of 32 CRAs in the state of Tennessee.
Seventy-four individuals successfully passed the Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) exam given in June and now will hold the CRA designation.
The CRA program is the first and only credentialing opportunity recognizing the range of skills and expertise an imaging administrator possesses. The credential was designed to recognize professional competencies in five key medical imaging management areas including financial management, communication and information management, human resource management, operations management and asset management.
Candidates who meet education and experience requirements and pass a national examination are awarded the credential CRA. Since 2002, more than 750 imaging professionals have earned the only credential that recognizes medical imaging management excellence.
