Fellow eighth-graders Ashland Cooper and Kasi Knight made Union Grove Middle School history this week with a pair of back-to-back home runs in an 11-1 win over Alcoa. With the Wildcats leading, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth, Cooper became the first softball player ever to homer at Union Grove’s three-year-old field when she lofted a grand slam, no less. One batter later, Knight made it an historic back-to-back with a solo shot.
