The second annual “Ask me why I’m…” event returns to Maryville on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Pavilion in the Bicentennial Green Belt Park behind the Blount County Courthouse.
The event culminates three days of activities to draw awareness and support for the New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center.
The “Ask Me Why I’m …” features a 5K run, a family fun walk, the Maryville High School Drum Line, food and a $5,000 reverse raffle. Tickets for the raffle are $50 and can be purchased at Children’s Advocacy Center on Cates Street.
Entry forms for the 5K and Fun Walk can also be picked up at the Center. Entry fee for adults is $20 and $10 for children, and includes a T-shirt. For more information about “Ask Me Why I’m,” visit www.AskMeWhyIm.org.
From 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, Sonic Drive-In on Foothills Mall Drive will 10 percent of proceeds to New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center. The fundraiser is in support of “World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse,” which is globally recognized Nov. 19.
