First Fall Festival at Eagleton is hit with community

Sometimes it is the simple things in life that are the most fun.

Just ask the kids -- and their parents -- who flocked to Eagleton Elementary’s first Fall Festival. No gourmet goodies were needed as students, teachers, staff, parents and community visitors found cotton candy, popcorn, cakes, candy and other delicious treats to be just right for a beautiful November day.

The festival was held at the school, 708 Sam Houston Road, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. Vendors, who paid a booth fee to participate, filled a “vendor mall” with their treats and goodies for the children. Carnival games, including face painting, a dunking booth and crafts, gave busy children something fun to do to fill the hours. There were auction items for sell, pony rides, raffle tickets and even a hay ride to round out the fun.
