The Planning Departments of Blount County and Loudon County along with the Blount County Soil Conservation District will conduct listening sessions associated with a $300,000 grant for the Baker Creek and Centenary Creek watersheds. The listening sessions will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Carpenter’s Elementary School and at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, at Greenback Community Center.
Residents are asked to come and hear about the grant work program including agricultural best management practices, septic system repair/replacement, retention basin retrofit, and how you may benefit. Come and give your comments and thoughts about water quality and what we should do about it.
A map of watershed area and grant information are at www.blounttn.org/planning under Plans button. For more information, call Blount County Soil Conservation District - Erich Henry at 865-983-2011.
