Middle school volleyball players from around the area got the chance to learn from some of the best in college volleyball earlier this year when members of the University of Tennessee volleyball team visited Eagleton Middle School for a clinic.
EMS volleyball coach Robin Cross said the annual workshop was held on Feb. 26 and 27 at the school.
“This is a basic skills clinic we have every year, and Eagleton Middle School hosts it to gear middle school girls up for volleyball season,” she said. “This year it so happened we could get Lady Vols to come talk to the girls on the last day of the clinic.”
Cross said the three of the Lady Vols volleyball players came to work with the girls. “They basically answered questions and did demonstrations and signed autographs and left information for their camp for those who were interested.”
Cross said 85 girls attended the camp. The young volleyball players came from Alcoa Middle School and all four Blount County middle schools.
