The Dollar General Literacy Foundation on May 24 awarded a $13,122 grant to Adult Education Foundation of Blount County.
“The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is pleased to support Adult Education Foundation of Blount County’s adult literacy program, which helps others better their lives through education,” said Rick Dreiling, Dollar General’s chairman and CEO.
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s adult literacy grant supports nonprofit organizations that provide adult literacy services such as adult basic education, general education diploma preparation or English as a second language.
Since the Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s inception in 1993, it has provided grants to nonprofit organizations dedicated to the advancement of literacy. The foundation has awarded more than $47.2 million in grants across Dollar General’s 35-state market area.
