Social Host Liability Law is topic of May 11 seminar at library

A town hall meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, at the Blount County Public Library concerning the Social Host Liability Law, under which adults who serve or provide alcohol to minors can face fines and be held liable if the underage drinker is killed or injured, or kills or injures another person.

The seminar is designed to inform residents how the law affects parents, friends, students and the community. The forum is hosted by the Substance Abuse Prevention Action Team of the Blount County Community Health Initiative.

The program is free. For information, call the Blount Memorial Foundation and Community Outreach at 865-977-5727.
