ETRO offers ‘Discover Rowing’ course in Louisville

The East Tennessee Rowing Organization (ETRO) is offering a free Discover Rowing course on Wednesday, May 19 at 5:30 p.m. to introduce non-rowers to the sport of rowing and provide information about the rowing organization.

The class is one of two free sessions scheduled this summer at the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC), which is locatedat 3498 Rankin Ferry Loop at Lashbrooke Nursery in Louisville. The remaining Discover Rowing course is set for May 26.

These classes are led by ETRO coaches and members of the club's masters program. Discover Rowing participants learn about the history of rowing and are instructed on basic rowing terminology, physiology and technique. Participants will also receive on-the-water instruction and how to practice rowing technique using an ergometer.
