The East Tennessee Rowing Organization (ETRO) earned second and third place honors during the Oak Ridge Dogwood Invitational Regatta on Saturday, April 24.
The Men’s Novice 8 placed second in heats to secure a spot in the finals, where they took sixth place. The Women’s Varsity 8 earned third place honors in heats and also advanced to finals where they, too, took sixth place. The Men’s Varsity 4 also placed third in heats.
The regatta, which included 64 races on a 2,000-meter downstream course on Melton Hill Lake, was part of the Dogwood Arts Festival and concluded seasonal races for ETRO.
ETRO crew members competing in the Men’s Novice 4 placed fourth place in heats, and the Women’s 2nd Varsity 4 took fifth place overall.
ETRO is a community rowing club focused on providing the best rowing experience in the scenic foothills of East Tennessee.
The club rows out of the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC) is Louisville and is convenient to the greater Knoxville area including Maryville, Oak Ridge and Farragut.
As a member of US Rowing, ETRO offers recreational and competitive rowing programs for adults and youth. The club is dedicated to helping its members get exactly what they want out of rowing - whether it be for exercise, fun, competition or meeting lifelong friends and teammates.
