Apostolic students study, celebrate cultures of other nations

On the evening of March 12, the gymnasium of Apostolic Christian Academy was transformed into a venue of multinational proportions.

The bi-annual International Food Festival involved students from kindergarten through the school’s twelfth grade to celebrate the life, diversity, music, dance and all culture of countries around the world.

The project, said school officials, is in keeping with Apostolic’s tradition of community outreach and global giving and is meant to bring people of Blount County together to celebrate and showcase food and culture from around the world.

The students at Apostolic also used the educational and social event to further their desire for giving to missions. The evening was a fundraiser for mission programs in other countries, and a total of $ 2,171.76 was raised the night of the festival.
